On July 2nd 1937, Amelia Earhart aged 39, accompanied by Navigator Fred Noonam, got missing while flying from Papua New Guinean to land in California. Her last message was that she could not locate the Howland Island where she was suppose to land for refuelling.Her remains and that of her fellow trveller was never located. The debris of the plane was also never found.
